Chapter 2,086
In which two games are played well…
The morning began with very important considerations.
“Does God have toenails?” Puck wanted to know.
An eight o’clock drop-off for OLeif at the Main Street Diner for the men’s group with Judah and Jordan Redcoat and several other gentlemen of the church.
To the Silverspoon’s for bacon and Marbleworks.
Then to the game at ten.
It started out with a good half. Linnea had four baskets. The second half was a little less robust, as the team slowed it down a little so that the other team could have a chance to score some points. The final was 25-41. Another win for the home team.
Back to the Silverspoon’s for fajitas, pork skins for the boys, and Pingu, through which Puck bobbed his head with the introductory music.
And Puck had certainly caught his mom’s cough.
A surprise trip out for Collette in the afternoon to accompany Carrie to church.
Over at the house…
Mom and Carrie were going out for groceries.
Joe was apparently hiking with buddies.
Francis and Linnea were just returning from visiting Grandpa for the afternoon.
Spring yellow Oreos. Far too many spring yellow Oreos…
And the skies were still gray, and even more threatening like rain as the afternoon progressed.
Mom and Dad went out to dinner.
Collette caught about twenty minutes of the Atletico game before leaving. A triumph. Finally.
Church.
There was always something fulfilling and comfortable about going to Memorial at night. Something strikingly appropriate for early spring and autumn, in particular.
Rose joined them there, just having come from her appointment at the Apple store where she was awarded a free white iPhone in replacement for the fully broken former model.
And Rose stayed afterwards for dinner and a viewing of Signs with friends.
Back at the house…
Dad and Francis were watching Star Wars.
Mom was prepping for the trip with Rick Steves.
And Francis returned Collette to a sleepy little house on the hill where OLeif had forgotten the oil in the pan on the stove. And there was a wall cloud. Apparently Collette wasn’t the only one who forgot about food on the stove.
