February 9

The roads were a bit slippy that morning, despite the sun. Because the temperatures were at twelve degrees and the wind chills below zero by ten o’clock in the morning.

This, however, did not prevent Linnea from sledding for half an hour with Gretyl, who was on her second snow day of the year in a row. Soon the cold drove them home.

Back inside:

  1. Puck had dumped out Francis’ entire jar of dried baby shrimp fish food on the carpet.

  2. Francis was wave-boarding around the house (on Joe’s apparatus), and subsequently running into the furniture.

In the afternoon: to Trader Joe’s and the despiséd Wal-Mart for supplies, the store, in Collette’s humble opinion, responsible for the vitiation of small businesses across the country.

When they returned, Rose was busy helping Puck feed ginger snaps to “The Mouth”, which was the zippered coconut purse from Aruba which Rose would open and close to munch the cookies. Puck later decided to call him “Clam”.

Then Linnea took the Puckerton outside to play in the four or five inches of snow playscape.

At home, Puck was a little sulky that it was not yet time to go outside with OLeif.

This is not my fault,” he said to himself. “I’m gonna stay here for da rest of my life.”

And then… LOST.
