Few Happenings

The day of Joe’s party, the cats heard the alarm clock switch on the radio at 5:45 from the other side of the bedroom door, and began mewing loudly for food. Eventually they decided that meowing would not open the door and they returned to their kitty affairs back in the kitchen.
And it was one of those Fridays in the office where everyone was gone for most of the day. Sinai was finishing his sermon, meeting people for lunch, and visiting the hospital. Ivy was in Colorado. Rosemary was in Atlanta for a women’s conference (where Dr. Trade-Winds oldest daughter was speaking). Isabella was never in the office on Fridays. Judah was at the seminary for classes. And Jimmy was out and about. During her lunch break, Collette ate her bologna sandwich for lunch and read Scottish Chiefs in the pleasant quietness of the afternoon… back to the days of tartan glory.
“Scots wha hae wi’ Wallace bled,
Scots wham Bruce hath often led,
Welcome to your gory bed,
Or to victory!”
