Four Years
It had been four years. Four years since Collette walked down the aisle. She was having more difficulty over the years deciding whether it felt as though August 28th, 2004, felt more like only yesterday, or perhaps decades in the past.
And as a sort of anniversary gift to OLeif, it was decided between them that it was time for him to begin seminary. If all went well, his first class would begin Tuesday. He would start out slow and see how things progressed.
Collette and Puck spent part of their morning at the park.
Puck was thrilled to take on the spiral slide with Collette.
He smiled to himself on the way down the blue tube in Collette’s lap and landed on the rubber matting ready to try again.
OLeif’s day was busy. Meetings, errands, desk work, etc.
He arrived home just in time to take the family’s annual pictures and to sit with Gus for his dinner before raking in an order of Penn Station to share with Collette, then returning to work at 8:00pm.
And as prospects of Vietnam reopening adoptions to the United States had faded, there were now hopes that Thailand might be available by June.
That night, after sub sandwiches with OLeif, a great wind came through bringing in its wake, a thunderstorm. Always Collette’s favorite way to end the evening.
