Freezing Days

Thursday, December 4, 2008

Another dusting of snow arrived in the night. And even though the sun had risen bright over the world, it was near freezing for most of the day.
Over at the house, Carrie was busy conducting further research regarding possible academic programs.
And Rose had successfully completed another psychology exam, four away from the big finish.
Joe took Collette for a spin in the Fit that afternoon. Out to the country — winding roads, gripped by the new tires of the silver bullet. At the top of a hill, once used in Tour Missouri, Joe stopped the car so they could see the view of the winter valley below. Like it came from a German postcard. A barn and house, a sparkling lake, the woods and the river bank far beyond. It was a beautiful view.
Back at the house, Puck woke from a slumberous nap to help his Lila make holiday cookies with red and green M’nM’s and green food coloring.
That night, Mom attended the ladies’ Christmas coffee night at church, while Rose left for a coffee shop, and Carrie and Joe drove over for the Office night.
