Friday Haul

Yali sat at a quiet table in the cafeteria with a mound of snacks in his hands. Between upstairs and downstairs, he had discovered ample snack resources at school. The “goldfish crackers” lady upstairs – Bob’s grandmother – and the “fruit snacks” lady downstairs – Big J’s mom. So he hoarded the goodies into his stomach, waiting to join chapel about an hour later. This has become our Friday morning routine. Because next year, his Fridays will be officially in preschool, just down the hall from Big Brother.
