From One Thing to Another
It was another busy day. Collette and Carrie spent their morning putting together a packet of recommendation letters for Carrie’s potential continued education.
This was followed with a trip to Walgreens for Mom, Collette, and Carrie for hair dye for Collette, 45 copies of the family Christmas picture, and packing tape to close up Linnea’s Christmas present for Cherry.
Then to the Post Office to mail both Linnea’s box and Carrie’s packet of letters.
Around more Dr. Who and another hair dye for Collette, Carrie talked about Dad’s Christmas gift from the family. He had been to Macy’s the night before to try it out.
“A nice dark charcoal coat,” she said. “And he needs a mustard scarf and the black fedora. Of course he’d never wear it…”
Then the day finally ended. Collette and Puck drove home under charcoal gray and setting orange in the skies.
Back home, while Collette prepared chicken and green pepper for Puck’s dinner, he danced around the house to Christmas music, marching back and forth in the living room in his oversized red t-shirt borrowed from Linnea, with his Hobbes in one arm, and a collection of random objects from around the house in the other.
And OLeif was out that night again for more work, to pick up and drop off a crib for an Argentine seminary family, and to visit briefly with Joe, Magnus, Erasmus, and Rose at Starbucks. The Christmas season was always very full.
