Gotcha again
Patience's 8th “Gotcha! Day” begins with the two youngsters snuggled on both sides of me listening to goofy songs about toast...
...as Puck texts me that his first military drill weekend has been canceled for some unknown reason...
While Oxbear and Yali scoot south for Yali's therapy appointment – his fever still working on that ear...
Patience has requested to celebrate her special day with scrunchie shopping and Panda Express... so we hit up Target mid-morning which includes two packs of scrunchies and a pack of press-on nails in a shade called “World Lit Velvet” and a jumbo container of cheeseballs to share with her brothers... she chats about her plans on the way back... “Can you help me put on the nails when we get back?” // “Do you maybe want to wait to put them on for a special event?” // “Well... I wanted to wear my nails while I eat Panda Express today...”
Back home Yali is wrapped up in a blanket looking kind of low but feeling good enough to occasionally “do a little dance”...
Before Puck leaves for work he's out chatting about a Chevy Camaro auction going on up in Washington state that Elmer sent over to him...
And Yali is watching a wasp buzz on the other side of the glass... gets the idea to start bothering his sister who claims to have a true case of trypophobia... “There's a WASP trying to lay eggs in your HAND, Patience! And there's going to be HOLES all over your HAND!...” // After this goes on for a short time I cut in... “You must be feeling better Yali...” // “I am!”
Afternoon almost gone... morning dove in the half-dead tree behind the house... cicada and cricket... bees and butterflies tumbling around the wildflowers...
Puck returns that evening with two boxes of popsicles at Yali's request before striking out to St. Charles County with friends...
