Grandma Turns 80
OLeif woke up with the same sickness, the next morning. But he had prepared himself: bottles of Vitamin C, vinegar water, honey cough drops, etc. He was armed. After sleeping in an hour late, missing the first service, he was still ready to teach Sunday School by 9:45.
In important news, it was Grandma Snicketts’ 80th birthday. She had requested not to have a birthday party. However, instead of a large bash, Dad invited her to accompany the family to Outback Steakhouse, which she had agreed to do.
Uncle Balthasar had missed the opportunity by minutes, calling her just after she had gotten off the phone with dad. So Uncle Balthasar, Aunt Tuuli, Bristol, Nerissa, and the twins would take her out for a birthday lunch at next opportunity.
Puck had a fabulous time, as usual, munching on pumpernickel bread, Alice Spring’s chicken quesadillas, Aussie chips, and grilled cheese. He was one happy little monster, as Mom would say.
And Grandma received a birthday card, plus the promise of a gift in the mail soon –- a jigsaw puzzle of a map circling her residence in Ellisville.
