Saturday was for another trip to the Galleria. Carrie had enjoyed her un-birthday-return-from-South-America present – a Teavana maker. And Mom decided to get one as an early birthday present for Collette. So Mom, Collette, Carrie-Bri, Joe, and Puck took a trip. This time, Mom and Carrie ordered 2 ounces of Apple Lemon Pomegranate tea and Collette, Banana Calypso. While their order was rung up, Collette listened to their collection of ethnic music, which included Arabic Groove and African Reggae (which Joe liked in particular). Puck watched people sternly from beneath the woolen folds of his poncho, which he was greatly enjoying.

Later, Carrie was dropped off at Elizabeth’s before work, Joe took off to the Art Museum with his Egyptology class (where he found an Aztec statue scratching its bum) after his performance for the Puck:

“Look, Puck!” He exclaimed, juggling a handful of old choir CDs.

Puck watched intently. Joe began to sing:

“When I was a boy, I ate four dozen eggs…”

Rose had been at work since seven in the morning, and Mom marinated steaks for Dad to barbecue.

Linnea jumped around outside in bare feet, trying to catch falling leaves.

“Yes!”

“Oh, Linnea, you’ve been waiting all fall and you finally caught one,” said Mom from the porch swing.

“After all these years…” Linnea said dramatically, crunching it in her hands.

“Doomed,” said Mom as Linnea let the pieces fall to the grass.

Come evening, Puck snuggled down for the night. Collette and Linnea played a round of Scrabble. And Denae dropped off OLeif who had just returned from Tennessee. It was good to have Pappa Bear back home again.
