Hair Cut

Friday, May 15, 2009

Collette and Puck spent most of their morning around town with Mom, Carrie, and Linnea: purchasing gifts and various items, including hair dye for the girls, a hanging tomato/pepper planter for Linnea, and a pack of jumbo Reeses peanut butter cups the size of small cakes, for good measure.
Puck bounced along happily as usual, running over to view the vacuums with his Lila at Bed Bath & Beyond, and giggling as she zoomed him through Target in the shopping cart.
That afternoon, Puck napped in his dinosaur onesie while Francis trimmed the lawn up to perfection. Joe hooked up his computer to the living room television so that it could be used for photos, films, etc. And Linnea played in the little pool on the patio with the neighbor girls.
Collette took off a foot of her hair that early afternoon. Carrie chopped it clean off with a scissors, dyed it dark brown, and highlighted it. It was even shorter than Collette had had it cut two and a half years earlier. And OLeif seemed to like it a lot, which was always a good thing.
That evening as wild winds and storms broke in over the little green neighborhood, OLeif headed out to coffee with Magnus and Rose. Joe met up with friends. Mom took Linnea to her American Heritage Girls graduation. Dad studied. Carrie drove to Wash-U to see about an Astronomy Society convention. And Collette typed away the evening with mango-orange sorbet and Doctor Who Season 1, while Puck slumbered through the rain. Everyone had their own way of spending a Friday night.
