Hate-ten-tine's Day?

So that’s what the kids were calling it these days… according to Linnea anyway.
Puck arrived at a more comfortable hour of 6:35 that morning, announcing his intent to endeavor in further reading lessons, immediately.

Collette pondered the idea of having a wristwatch while Puck enjoyed 3 minutes in the deteriorating snow, most of which was slammed against the patio door in soft bombs – painless way to wash the glass – or tossed over the fence into the neighbor’s yard…
“Mama!” he yelled, nose squished up against the glass in a big grin. “I’m throwing it over there so the kids have enough snow to build a snowman!”
When he returned, the cocoa was gone, so Collette offered Cheez-Its. And ice water.

After lunch, Collette prepared to trim down Puck’s nails.
“Look, Mama,” he said. “My fingers have been growing very well. But not these ones. These ones have been pretty naughty.”
A sushi ad arrived in the mail. A Valentine’s card from the locale of D.C. featuring the sweet face of Baby Cobble which Puck immediately added to his expanding card collection.

And Valentine’s evening, OLeif returned with tiny crabby patties for Puck. Joe dropped in with a bag of Dove dark chocolates and a sweet card for Collette, which Dad had written for all the girls. And of course the chocolate chip cookies.
