Henri's Ordination
Saturday, May 8, 2010
Up early Saturday morning.
Over to the Silverspoon’s with a bundle of gold roses tipped in crimson for Gloria in early Mother’s Day appreciation, after which OLeif immediately took off for a photo shoot from nine till two, Theodore departed for a client meeting, Izzy was at play practice and out to chop down a crop of willow trees, and Gloria worked on locating renters insurance for Curly in Nashville.
In the afternoon, Puck became a wild man after he apparently sneaked some of OLeif’s coffee. He was practically a romping banshee, and taking him to Henri’s ordination service seemed absolutely out of the question. So Gloria took him to play at the park, which he loved.
Meanwhile, at church, in rehearsal, OLeif inadvertently interrupted the small congregation of the Chinese church which meant weekly in the choir room.
“I walked back there and was hit with the beautiful smell of Chinese food,” said OLeif. “And then they asked me to play music with them.”
Collette sat with Evangeline and Baby Hesed during the service, which went very smoothly, and was followed by the cutting of a cake fashioned with blue and white fondant into the Book of Church Order, which was a clever design by Mrs. Rum. And very good. There were also bowls of punch which Mom served.
And so Henri Eight became Pastor Henri Eight.
