Inspired Creatures

It was the first day back to choir for Joe, Rose, and Frances. Joe had also run over to Grenada to put down another payment on his bike. And Carrie, beginning her second day of classes (seeing as her school did not recognize holidays), later took off the afternoon to run errands with Elizabeth after work.
Meanwhile, Frances had been working on clay creatures in his spare time. He had watched OLeif mold a couple of fantasy-like critters Monday night, and decided to fashion his own with some of the leftover clay. He showed Collette several of his creations:
“OLeif inspired me,” he said happily. “See this guy? It’s a party duck.”
Collette laughed at the little fellow – a party hat sitting at a jaunty angle on his feathered head, and two tiny teeth sticking out from under his bill.
After the tutoring of the day, Mom returned with the kids from a parents’ choir meeting to run up to the vet for dog medicine and to make quiche for dinner while Dad worked with Joe on his math. Back home, in the cool of the evening, OLeif made potato soup and practiced Kitts’ old viola in preparation to also play in the little orchestra for the dedication service that Sunday.
