Is the Rain to Stay?

Sunday, August 27, 2006

Sunday did bring the storms, early. And the rain continued to fall here and there during church.

Back at the house, there was roast, a hot potato dish, and bread, while they discussed the things of the day. Dad and Mom were to take Frances and Linnea with them to the church that evening for a Small-Group Kick-Off with homemade ice cream. And for reasons unnecessary to explain, everyone would find out that evening that when Dad was a little kid, he had owned a pet hose nozzle.

Meanwhile, Linnea was trying to get over a spider bite, Carrie-Bri had found another concert to attend somewhere outside of St. Louis, Frances had devoured double or triple helpings of everything for lunch and half a pizza left over from the night before, Joe had just returned from his Scout camp weekend. Walking in the door, he said:

I never want to hear another ‘your mama’ joke again.”

Rose threw a tennis ball at Frances, OLeif, and the dog for awhile, and Dad and Mom joined the crowd after their Sunday afternoon nap to laugh over I Love Lucy, the fifth season, which Annamaria had just given to Rose as a late birthday present.

In other news, Molly was getting used to the idea of people calling her “metal mouth”, “railroad track teeth”, etc., just having received braces the week before.
