Jacket Games, Poinsettias, & Chicken Marsala
Thursday, November 10, 2005
Wednesday night had been spent in the basement of the church office with eight of the Junior High kids, Rose, Molly, Jimmy & Loraine, OLeif, and herself. There was the “knot” game to attend to, as well as the jacket game, including a brief lesson from James. Following, OLeif and Collette carted out to Stallone’s where OLeif attempted once again to fix their system, while on his cell with the designer of the program in Texas, but to no avail.
In other news, the fourteenth night of violence in France brought encouragement to the police, as fewer cars had been set on fire. Jordanians were protesting terrorism in the streets of their capitol, and the Senate declined a bill which allowed oil drilling in the wildlife reserves of Alaska.
At the office that morning, Ivy ran in late after running an errand to pick up Christmas stationary for Fran – one for his business letters (decked in poinsettias) and another for his personal letters (in green fir and acorns). And there were various new announcements, including the Women’s Outreach Christmas Dinner where Chicken Marsala stuffed with crab and scallops would be served, and another announcement for the return of the Glenn’s uncle, who would be giving a presentation on his mission in Iraq the following Sunday after the service. And later on, Ivy drew a sketch of the new silverware she had purchased for Thanksgiving to show Collette, as well as the curtains she and Rosemary had worked to hem and swag in the living room.
