January 14
The day opened to gray, then subtly turned to Sisteen Chapel clouds buttled against the western horizon over a bolt of blue. And they opened the windows for the morning.
OLeif was home for most of the day, completing the Biblical literacy exam.
Then, he delivered the pan of chocolate peanut butter bars to work from Rose (to everyone but Simon, who had strep throat). They were well appreciated, and the dish was polished clean.
Then to seminary to drop off the exam.
A drop by the fuel station for a large York peppermint pattie.
And a return home to spend time with the Puckerton (as OLeif called him on the occasion). They tried playing in the yard, but it was flooded, apparently.
So Puck played with OLeif in the basement on the little trampoline. When Collette came down to check up on things, Puck hurried over to her:
“I fell on the trumpoline, wiff my head fawwing dooooown.”
But babies bounced, and all seemed well. As Collette finished up some documents on the laptop at the kitchen table, Puck would occasionally trot over to the bottom of the stairs and call up to her:
“You ok, Mama? You ok?”
It was the resuming of comedy night. So Rose arrived with a box of Zebra Cakes to replenish the original stash. This was accompanied by white cheddar Cheez-Its.
