A Sunday morning service where OLeif and Collette appeared before the church with other adoptive families for Sanctity of Life Sunday…

After soup and bread, the girls returned from church with Grandma Snicketts in time to join Mom, Collette, and Linnea in a travel to New Town. Another shower, but a baby shower, and this time for Travis’ baby girl, to be born in March.

There was all family, including the twin babies, who were walking very well. Starlight, a few minutes younger, was already an obvious bit taller than her older sister, Sunlight. And both were sweet, hurrying around in identical polk-a-dot dresses and white stockings.

Carrie couldn’t resist giving them little pinches on their squishy baby bellies when they marched over to her. They both came over to sit on her lap as she helped them peel little stickers off sheets and put them on their hands.

There were many generous gifts and more catching up on the family. Uncle Balthasar and Aunt Tuuli had been to Greece. Uncle Hilario and Aunt Corliss were headed to Puerta Vallarta in a few weeks…

When prizes were awarded for various games, Blessing was given a Valentine’s photo album.

Oh,” she said in sarcastic humor, “all those Valentine’s memories!”

Yes,” said Aunt Corliss, “she’ll be staying home with Wheezer while we’re in Mexico.”

My date with Wheezer…” said Blessing with a fake frown.

Hey, we could have a lonely hearts night?” Carrie joked back.

And after phyllo-rolled little smokies, cheeses, sausages, crackers, mini cheesecakes, punch, and a large frosted cake… it was about time to leave.

Back at the house, Puck was hurrying about with balloons and such, and Carrie painted another curly mustache on his face.

You’ve got a better mustache than your uncles,” Dad told him.

Hey, just ’cause I can’t grow one yet…” Francis protested with a grin.

I’m bringing back the Hitler ‘stache!” Joe pronounced.

And then everyone had ice popcicles and watched two episodes of Ballykissangel, season five.
