Oxbear returns after nine o'clock from what became only a half-hour breakfast appointment with G.L. after beaching my car on an unexpected mound of ice (he couldn't see through the windshield and pulled over into a parking lot that hadn't been fully cleared)... he spends 45 minutes digging it out, with the aid of a Good Samaritan who also very kindly provides 45 minutes of his time... though other random people snap photos of them as they drive by...

When Patience later learns of this, scooting around the house on her rollerblades, she becomes indignant that anyone would laugh at her father... “I'm going to sue their butts!” (I don't know where she gets this from...) “How do I sue them?” “Talk to the government...” Yali suggests... “Yes! I'm going to talk to the government!”

Meanwhile, getting the kids prepared for morning math sheets, text back and forth with Elmer about the influences of American-German cause-and-effect following WWI and how differently the dictator situation might have looked without blistering repercussions on German citizens following the war...

Puck joins the crowd as the kids complete their math sheets... “Puck, do you know all the numbers?” Patience wants to know... this makes him laugh, which somehow leads to highly intellectual conversation with mostly noisy exclamations of : “You shut up!” “No, you shut up!” **giggle giggle** ...as Puck orders himself lunch on my McDonald's app, including a quarter pounder, a hot chocolate, and... “You want a whole baker's dozen chocolate chip cookies for yourself?” I tease... “Don't judge me...” (he grins) “I can eat whatever I want” “A tote... it's so many cookies, they call it a tote...” he just grins again...

After the nonsense concludes and most everyone has some of Puck's chocolate chip cookies order... Yali and Patience disband, packed with lunch, to the outdoors where Yali has recently been very busy working as Icicle Patrol...

Skip ahead...

  • Drive Patience to the studio for a private lesson in the late afternoon (where she learns more “juicy news” from her teacher (she loves juicy news, especially when it has to do with “loooooove”))
  • Puck leaves to hang out with J in O'Fallon
  • Oxbear trims off about six inches of my hair in the kitchen with the hair trimmers because someone(s) keeps losing the hair scissors...
