July 1
On the first of July – the first fireworks accident of the holidays. Linnea stepped hard on a uncooled match and burnt the top layer of the sole of her foot. After a brief recovery on the couch, she was ready to once again play with neighbor friends, including a dip in the pool
Puck was inside having conversation with the line of soda bottles on the kitchen floor, left over from Rose’s party. He would occasionally shake one and let it sit on his legs like he would the cats.
And it wasn’t long before he had found a bag of Dad’s dry erase markers and began to rummage.
Dad and Frances were leaving the next day. So Collette brought Puck with Mom and Frances on their last errands, so that Frances could have some “Puck time” before missing his chubby nephew for two weeks.
“That’ll be the worst part of being gone,” said Frances. “Not seeing Puck.”
