July 10

It was a busy day. Puck was going to his favorite place: the grocery store. This time, to Costco. He crooned at the carrots, pleaded for the plums, begged for the bananas. In the end, he had to wait for lunch, but whined to hold the giant case of grapes in his lap on the way home. Collette sent in a substitute. The new dark purple throw for the couch. Same color. He only temporarily accepted the offering, then turned his attentions back to the produce.
Later in the afternoon, Collette brought Linnea to pick up Amelia for the movies. After debating for several minutes at the snack counter, the girls finally settled on a “medium” cherry ICEE (which was very large), and a box of Sno Caps. For the rest of the movie, Collette heard from time to time in loud masked whispers:
“Linnea! You just ate all the ICEE!”
“Did not! I paid for that half.”
“Give me back the Sno Caps!”
Then there were giggles. Fortunately, the movie was captivating enough for them that they were quiet for the most part.
In other news, Carrie and Lucia were officially headed to the British Isles: England, Scotland, and Ireland, in that order, for two weeks after Carrie returned from a week with Shepherd, Malaya, Relevance, Kitts, (and their friend who owned a baby octopus), at the Mises Institute in Alabama.
