July 11th

Saturday was muggy and overcast.

Over at the house, Collette finished up the details for Christiana’s memory book while Relevance and Izzy discussed the minutia of strategy games.
Then there was lunch of breakfast casserole and little circle toasts with goat cheese and bruschetta, while Kitts baked dark chocolate cookies filled with Rolos and rolled in sugar… while the table talked about succession, the public school system, eminent domain, a road from Mexico to Canada. Etc., etc., etc.

After Puck’s nap, everyone split up to prepare for Bluebell’s retirement party at the park, with thunderstorms scheduled for half an hour before its official 5:30 start.
