Over at the Silverspoon’s, Puck examined the basement stairs. He had only just taken a spill on the driveway and bloodied his knee a bit.
“If I fell down the steps, I would cry and cry,” he said thoughtfully.
He also found it necessary, while playing Legos with Izzy in his room, to tell him that, “It’s a mess in here, Izzy. You’d better clean that up.” Apparently someone had been listening to ‘Grandma’ lately…
The morning was spent at Bible study as usual. Five crazy boys all thrown in together between the ages of two and four while the four moms sat together in the sanctuary where the A/C did not seem to be working. And Gloria got the boys to play ‘train’ by lining up rows of folding chairs in the fellowship hall.
In the afternoon the hours were split between the warm breezes of the overcast afternoon, reading books, and Mr. Rogers.
“It looks like Mr. Rogers is going to take you to the zoo today,” Collette told Puck.
Puck looked carefully at her. “But he can’t take me in the television,” he said. “I can’t go in there. I want to stay here at Nana’s.”
In the evening, when everyone reconvened, Puck decided to put on his nana’s high heels. And off he went, stomp-stomping around the house until he saw Theodore.
“Uh, I think we’ve got a problem here,” said Theodore.
“It’s ok, Dad,” said OLeif. “He thinks they’re knives.”
And Theodore laughed and proceeded to talk about knives and guns and shooting, etc.
