Friday held several quiet activities:

  1. Emissions and inspection for the old red Civic, which, for the most part passed with flying colors…

  2. Prepping the barn basement for movie night, which was thankfully pumping out the A/C as opposed to its cousin chambers upstairs…

  3. Carrie consulting Mom on her sage-green dress for Esther’s wedding in November, and pearls….

  4. Dropping off Dan with Creole and Puff ‘o Lump for a few hours of Call of Duty

While Collette worked with Francis on his algebra that morning, Puck was busy massaging Linnea’s back with a baby rolling pin.

After five o’clock, Mandarin was also dropped off to attend the Murder Mystery Dinner at the library with Linnea-Irish. Followed shortly later by everyone else at various times, and departing for various other things, including Carrie off to sushi with Lucia. It was often Grand Central Station…

That evening was reserved for Night at the Museum. It was like walking into a real theater, a private viewing. Lights low, music from the DVD already playing, a little eerie, the smell of buttered popcorn. The air conditioning. And quite cold, just like the real theaters.

Fifteen or so people altogether. And Puck did pretty grand with it all until ‘Larry’ got bit on the nose by the monkey. Then he fled the room, saying, “Let’s go bye-bye!” But he was later returned, mesmerized with Theodore Roosevelt.
