June 19th

Puck heard another train from the north as he was getting dressed that morning. And, as always, his eyes lit up.
“Twain! Twain!”
On Relevance’s 26th birthday, Collette and Puck reviewed some reading material together. Collette looked over Dad’s project management text, while Puck sat in her lap and surveyed her pocket Bible, which he thought made him a very important little figure, indeed.
That afternoon, in the heat of the day, Collette and Puck stayed indoors for Puck to play with his ‘black cars’ and dance to Spanish flamenco music while chewing on his stuffed donkey’s snout.
Rose arrived after Puck had been tucked into bed for the night with his usual requests:

“Pray.”
“Light on.”
“Keep door open, Daddy.”

Then while OLeif continued editing photos, Collette and Rose watched a rather tense version of BBC’s Mansfield Park and ate Oreo Cakesters while Rose talked about how she had already started poking her wrapped birthday presents to see what they were.
She left near eleven, just as the lightening show started, bringing with it a wonderful thunderstorm by midnight.
