Last day of tutoring for the week.

After twelve, Carrie-Bri and Francis returned from picking up Linnea-Irish from her camp — pillows, chucks, and all.

Meanwhile, Carrie-Bri began work on painting all the doors and door frames in the hall, white, while Doctor Who played on, unless Francis would turn on the microwave to disrupt the streaming. He usually giggled at this.

In the afternoon, while Francis and Creole did the usual things, Collette ran errands. And when Collette returned to the waiting room at the doctor’s office following her appointment — there had been a lot of those lately with the adoption — Linnea had fallen asleep in the chair, she was so tired. Gymnastics class, which was next, was sure to waken her up.

When she returned, Francis and Creole were lounging out on Collette’s giant orange and gold blow-up sun. From Grandma Combs of course. Puck also joined them for a short spell.

And Carrie prepared Mexican-style meatballs and spaghetti, creamy Mexican corn (which even Collette sampled and liked), cornbread with green pepper and honey, and fudge. Carrie was a crafty cook. Always able to pull out a gourmet meal on a shoestring, as Mom often put it.

Come early evening, Rose returned to water her garden of mint and flowers, with Puck to aid in the watering while it was Carrie’s and Linnea’s turn to sun themselves on the sun.

That night, OLeif and Collette did nothing much more than watch a movie and have ice cream waffle cone bowls together.
