Puck was busy helping clean Carrie’s room.
“Eeew!” he cried. “Eeew, Mama, eeew! Trash! Trash!”
He came out running, which was always more of a jump/run, carrying a pile of Pumpkin’s black hair.
Earlier, Puck was in sitting practice, pretending that his head was a robot, complete with sound effects and choppy movements.
“Doggone it, Puck, you distract me again,” said Carrie. “I’m trying to read about how to take over the world.”
Next, Carrie made cream of broccoli and cauliflower soup from scratch with the help of Puck.
“Here, Puck,” she said, handing him a little bouillon cube wrapped in red foil. “Little presents. Unwrap them and put them in the bowl.”
Puck did so.
Francis spent most of his day making little tape blocks out of white duct tape and blue painter’s tape. This kept his very amused.
Then Carrie pulled a red sheet over her head and switched on the three-pronged glowing blue back massager underneath it, which scared Puck to pieces. And then he decided that this ‘alien’ wasn’t so bad, and went back to business with his giant bouncy ball.
And Mom had left to spend the night with Grandma before they left on the train early the next morning with Aunt Petunia. They were, all three, going to stay at a bed and breakfast in Hermann in early celebration of Grandma’s 73rd birthday.
And not only Dad and Linnea were scheduled to return from Iowa on Thursday night, but they would also be bringing with them, Cherry and Blueberry, for the weekend.
