Monday opened with a thunderstorm, by 6:45 in the morning, and a moderate rain.
By the time Collette and Puck had arrived at the house, Mom was already gone with Mrs. English for the day to attend a classical education conference.
Carrie had just returned from picking up a giant mirror, a Craig’s List find, and was in the kitchen madly piecing together a breakfast of potato casserole, poached egg/ham cups, fruit salad, biscuits, and gravy for the three girls still snoozing in the basement.
After the girls had taken a spin on the bikes, Mrs. Pie arrived at 11:30 to return them to Iowa. Then Carrie and Linnea practiced salsa dancing in the living room.
Later on, Francis and Linnea sat in the kitchen and discussed life issues with Collette before algebra, until Collette took them to Best Buy for Francis to purchase a video card and power charger for his PSP and a bag of Sun Chips for Linnea after she had checked out the iPod touch.
That evening, OLeif joined Rose and his other work buddies for a ‘nerd’ party, complete with Rose’s homemade raspberry cobbler.
