June 9

The day was still gray and nice. Cooled.

Over at the house, Puck was busy talking about monsters and that he was off ‘to the Boy Scouts!’

Collette fried up two more egg sandwiches, at Francis’ request. Seven eggs in one week for the red-cheeked gentleman. Tisk, tisk…

Meanwhile, Carrie-Bri’s hair was flaming orange. It had been awhile since she had tried something… bright and unusual. But it was a temporary dye. Kitts had also dyed her hair red and the girls, with Rose and Gloria, had spent an evening together at the Silverspoon’s with hair dye and make-up and other ‘girly’ things, which was more a rarity than a staple.

And Francis was studying for his A&P mechanic license.

During lunch, Puck was busy instructing his carrots. “If you do that, carrot, that would be incredible… If you do that again, carrot, you’re gonna half be spanked.”

In the afternoon, Carrie-Bri turned her hair dark red-brown with another box of henna.

And Francis and Creole were once again busy mowing the neighbor’s lawn and doing yardwork.

Rose returned from work to crash for a moment, change into a striped top, jeans, and a crystal pendant necklace, and head out to the English’s with a bag of crispy fries for Annamaria’s movie night.

It was a quiet day.
