Kickball, Korean, & Kings

Despite the intended rain, the highs were meant to hit 65 that afternoon.
“Do you see any storm clouds out there?” Collette asked Puck early that morning.
Puck quickly drew the curtains…
“Nope! Only the glows of the sun!”

Part of the morning was spent in kickball in the back yard. They watched the west from time to time through the wind and topaz sun. Dark clouds were massing.
“That was bully!” Puck exclaimed, returning indoors.
Collette wasn’t certain he exactly understand what he was saying. And then…
“Tie down your nails, Mama. A storm’s coming in. And tie down your socks.”

In the afternoon, around more soccer moves in the backyard under steel skies, Puck had further thoughts…
“Mama? Is it alright if I make friends at Sun’s and Onion’s children’s church?”
“Sure.”
“Thanks!”
And while Collette jogged, Puck ate popcorn and jumped from the piano bench to the red couch, progressively stylizing his moves with exclamations such as…
“How crazy are my moves?”
Or…
“My twists are so crazy, you can see them in a dream!”

Meanwhile, OLeif had experienced his first two-class day at seminary. He returned at seven. Collette’s evening ended with further chapters of The Man who Would be King (despite his foibles, the man accomplished some pretty amazing feats of life)… and some more Korean film.
