Let's Name the Magnetic Cat

Thursday, August 31, 2006

The last day of August brought more sickness for OLeif and a throbbing headache during the night for Collette, which she was finally able to mostly relieve with Tylenol the next morning.

Meanwhile, at the office, Ivy was trying to think of a name for the magnetic cat:

Judah, Jr.,” she said aloud for Judah’s benefit, (who had just knocked a cup of coffee stirrers out of the copy room cabinet).

No, no Judah Jr.” Judah was adamant. “No naming the cat after me. It’s a creepy cat.”

Or,” Ivy pondered, “we could go with one of those kinds of names the Snicketts come up with, like ‘Red Hot Judah with a Big Fir On’.”

This was fondly reminiscent of the day Carrie-Bri had initially named Snuggles – “Big Fat Mamma with a Red Dress On”.

Later, Ivy treated Collette to lunch at Chevy’s, for quesadillas and stuffed burritos. And Mrs. English dropped by the office to pick up music for the Dedication Service, where half the English family would be playing in the mini-orchestra. While she was there, she told Collette that the whole family would be heading up to visit Diana over the holiday weekend, and would camp outside the city.

There was also discussion between Ivy, Rosemary, and Judah, over which bulletin covers to purchase for advent… and two and a quarter dozen other time-consuming things, which made up a typical Thursday at the church office.

It was also the day that Joe received semi-final approval for his last Eagle paperwork, pictures, goals, ambitions, etc.
