Ah, the awakening call of thunder clap. A perfect morning.

Tuesday was spent purchasing supplies for the mission trip and preparation for Rose’s next exam two days before departure. Carrie and Elizabeth were having a MUSE-party for the release of their new album and brought over Elizabeth’s new puppy, Luca, which Linnea led around the house and introduced to Troops and the cats; (Luca, by the way, made Pumpkin look like, well, a pumpkin). And Mom was off to dinner with Aunt Petunia.

Late in the afternoon, while quizzing Rose on the Anglo-Saxons, Collette and Rose discussed how Rose would probably end up living alone with two fainting goats one day. Collette could also imagine her stationed on a remote island in the South Pacific for the rest of her life, as a missionary to the cannibals. But such things remained to be seen.
