Linnea Turns 11

Tuesday, October 7, 2008

Linnea’s day did, indeed, bring rain. Collette and Puck hurried under cool misty skies to the store to finish putting together a birthday bag for Linnea, from Puck – purple silly string, red apple lip gloss, a pomegranate, a bunch of mini bananas (to fry), and a dozen mini cupcakes frosted in white and teal.
Mom had prepare breakfast over at the house – scrambled eggs and rice. At Linnea’s request.
“Because Ricky Ricardo ate rice for breakfast,” Mom explained.
Linnea’s hair was up in a knot on the top of her head, so that it would be curly for choir that afternoon. She was already busy in the middle of a game of Spore (Rose’s latest obsession) on the laptop.
In the mid-afternoon, Mom carted off the kids to choir, and Joe and Rose were joined by Lolli and Curly on a road trip to visit Wally at Rolla.
And so Linnea was ushered into the beginning of her twelfth year, the last of her elementary years.
