Linnea's 12th!
On the morning of Linnea’s 12th birthday, Puck eagerly bounced around the house, waiting to leave so that he could give his beloved Lila her birthday present.
When OLeif emerged from the bedroom a little disheveled (having not gone to bed until four in the morning to finish a project), Puck asked to see his bellybutton.
“Dere’s no one in de hole!” he exclaimed.
Then he tucked Donkey into his jacket like a kangaroo and prepared to leave.
As soon as Linnea came out to the car to see Puck, he cried out, “Happy Birfday!”
And he came inside to have her unwrap his gift: the next Nancy Drew computer game, involving pirate ships and sea treasure.
Then he and Linnea snuggled together on the loveseat and watched Rose’s gift to Linnea: Old Yeller 2.
In the afternoon, Linnea returned from gymnastics with Eleda and Mandarin, who would accompany her to youth group for the evening.
And Francis and Creole were busy tinkering on the go-cart after working at the neighbor’s. Puck added his share of help and wheeled his bike through the front lawn.
Meanwhile, it was a day of disaster for St. Louis. Classic 99, the 61 year-old station was leaving. Gone. Ended. Collette was not pleased, not pleased at all. What had gone wrong with the world?
