In which the usual autumn routine returns…
As OLeif prepared to leave for work that morning, he and Puck spent part of their minutes together in goofy conversations…
“I will miss you bigger than the ocean.”
“I will miss you bigger than the ocean.”
“I will miss you bigger than the sea.”
“I will miss you bigger than the sea.”
“I will miss you bigger than the…”
“Animals!”
“I will miss you bigger than the animals.”
“I will miss you larger than the sky.”
And so forth…
By 1:07…
Luke and Leia had returned.
Five months later, with volume cranked.
Puck and Luke began a discussion on how big God’s eyeballs actually were…
“His eyeballs are bigger than the sky.”
“His eyeballs are bigger than the sun.”
Evening.
Ash-blue skies over rose-orange.
Peanut butter from the jar.
A call from Rose on her way to Cheese-ology in The Loop, between work and staffing The Chapel that night. She had found her dream kitty in Louisville. Marbled Bengal.
And OLeif had taken an A and an A- in his Christian Ethics term paper and final, respectively.
