M-Day
Patience plops herself onto my bed before six-thirty in the morning... drops a handmade card on my pillow... carefully written with my “gourmet” marker set while she was sitting at the table next to me last night (makes me chuckle)...
It's after one o'clock in the afternoon and all five of us are at the Big House with most of the family present...
...discussing things like fresh conspiracy theories regarding the Great Pyramids as Mom's patio fountain splashes and wasps hum around the dark pink roses spilling up and over the old school bell...
Puck works on some tedious parts with the Jag while Francis tinkers on his 80 year-old tractor...
Chocolate cake and pans of loaded nachos...
A cardboard bonfire is lit later in the afternoon... soft smoke folds over the neighborhood... which may or may not include a little motor oil from various vehicles being worked on...
Home for Puck to degrease...
...Yali researching Harry Potter coats online...
...Patience slurping lemon peppermint tea from a spoon...
...and Oxbear cleaning out and washing out the Civic for my Mother's Day gift because there's a few birds in that dumb old sweetgum tree who really don't like my car...
