Puck was so completely enchanted with his new dishes from his aunt, that he woke up at 5:23 in the morning and hurried into OLeif’s and Collette’s room to ask for them.

Over at the house:

  1. Carrie-Bri had made a large plate of soft chocolate-honey cookies, which were pretty amazing, later accompanied by sugared almonds, between writing new pages for her book.

  2. Puck had been also gifted a magnetic fishing set, which he thought was pretty fantastic.

  3. Everyone, including Dad, gathered around Carrie’s laptop for some viewing of Balloonshop at the end of lunch.

  4. In the afternoon, Collette and Puck read ancient nursery rhymes together, including some strange old doozies.

  5. Francis was off to celebrate Puff ‘o Lump’s birthday at his house, with Creole.

  6. Linnea was having Mandarin over to spend the night after her swim meet, followed by their gymnastics class the next morning.

  7. And OLeif was headed out to Red Robin and movies with Joe and Curly.

On the way home, Puck carefully examined a Burger King coupon book from the mail, which he had dubbed his ‘newspaper’.

I want this,” he said, pointing to the picture of the fries, “and this,” (the funnel cake sticks), “and this, and this, and this…”

At dinner, Puck reached back to his neck to scratch at it.

I had a ‘gitchy’ back there,” he said seriously.

Big news of the day: Travis’ little baby girl, Whisper, had been born the previous morning at 11:52, weighing 5 lbs., 11 oz. Her full medical condition was still unknown.

“If all the world were apple pie,

“And all the sea were ink,

“And all the trees were bread and cheese,

“What should we have for drink?”

– If, a nursery rhyme
