Puck spent his breakfast watching the tree-cutters high up in the treetops on another cold gray morning.

After watching the tree-chopper outside the front window, Puck took Collette’s Spanish Bible.

I’m goin’ to read The Lord and God,” he said importantly. He opened the first pages. “There was Jesus. And Heaven. And dat was very good.” And he put it back on the shelf.

Their afternoon was spent out in the warm sun and cool breezes of a late winter day. The bugs were back in bloom, unfortunately. And the first leaves of the tulip stalks had pushed their way through the soil.

Rose arrived after work with extra crispy fries and a chocolate pie with Cool Whip, during Puck’s bubble bath. Then OLeif from his meeting. And Joe later, before joining his work buddies at Buffalo Wild Wings.

And during the evening, Great Uncle Harry called from New Mexico to consult on further Hamilton family research.
