The morning sun might have been wrapped in wildfires from its look... a pale peach-toned light in the east... Elmer later describes it on the sibling group text as “Mars like”...
Meanwhile Yali is already prepped to leave with Oxbear for his morning appointment with his recently usual greeting of – “Aho!” – dressed in his full casual Harry Potter “costume” (sans robes)...
...while Patience enjoys her free morning of “High School Musical 2” (best watched when her brothers aren't actually present; they've got about zero patience for musicals or mostly any kind of “unnecessary” drama and they're happy to let Patience know about it)...
With stacks of work through the morning... it's quickly noon... and a notification arrives that Puck's Schnucks store has been experiencing electrical/refrigeration issues and is currently offering no perishables... Puck wonders how much he'll actually have available to work on during his four hour shift that evening...
Clouds are brushed cotton on blue heaven... green buds and high winds and trilling birds...
Drive Patience back to the orthodontist for a routine wire-and-bands update... she chooses a dark turquoise before we leave in some heavy thudding drops of rain mixed with sunlight and becomes a brief deluge as we drive for home...
Puck is testing out his new flashlight-lighter when we return... lighting bits of cardboard and paper because he's got a bit of the same “pyro” in him that most of my siblings also seem to have... “Patience, give me that box of cheddar turtles... I'm going to burn it” // “No!”
And back in that big wide world of spring to the park for a walk around the green while Yali's Tesla RC “Lenny” careens crazily down the rough asphalt path... Yali has the ability to make it seem almost alive...
As we leave the park the kids are lightly fighting about nothing much at all... “He just belched in my face!” // “I meant that to be a thank you note!”
Patience and I drop Puck at work before four o'clock... he's busy talking about a recently discovered 1981 Mercedes he's been watching despite the interior looking “like a bear tore it up”...
Then back to the studio through a fine haze of tumbling dust and white pear blossoms sailing through the winds shaking traffic lights in Clayton...
While typing on the parking lot Puck texts about the situation at Schnucks... apparently... “Some electrician blew up a breaker in the back room and almost burned down the entire store... He’s lucky to even be alive”...
Home again-again... contact the automotive dealership with questions about the Mercedes while Yali lays out a full parkour stunt battle with full descriptive detail for me as he tumbles backwards and off the couch...
Pick up Puck at eight o'clock... apparently the electric explosion had been so bad on Tuesday that they had to evacuate the whole store, ultimately shutting down aspects of about every department, including Produce... “Did you have anything you could actually do then?” // “I put out some bananas...”
