Sky is something near a watery soup that morning as Patience and I drive to the studio listening to a little Haydn... big storms are coming but not till tomorrow they say...
Patience pops back out to the Honda two hours later with a chocolate cake pop from Miss N...
Back home Oxbear and Yali are busy with cardboard and black paint... crafting “saw blades” for Yali's next superhero/villain costuming... amidst a debris field of potato chip shards...
It's already mid-afternoon and Puck is leaving for a five-hour work shift... but not before he barks at Patience about “messing up” the coat closet he recently organized... and she barks back just as hard... even match...
Then the rest of us drive our old clothes dryer down south to Sally's place where she'll pass it on to her scrap metal guy... “And we need to get cat food while we're out...” Oxbear mentions // “And dental floss...” I reply // to which Yali adds... “And we also need a pet snake”... hmm...
In Jefferson County... Sally is busy hauling old junk around one of several sheds on her 40+ acres... after Oxbear unloads the clothes dryer we take an updated tour of her house with self-refurbished cabinetry and unique landscapes ready for freshly-painted walls... then to the basement to meet all seventeen baby chicks of varying colors and stripes waiting for the coop... while Oxbear loads up a cardboard box from the many dozens of ancient Mason jars still sitting on the shelves... Sally also easily convinces Oxbear and both kids that it's time to begin our own chicken shopping... (anything to make Yali forget about pet snakes)...
Home as wind-rushed sun splashes cold yellow glow on treetops splitting with bright buds...
