March Forth

Thursday, March 4, 2010

Collette woke up that morning next to a cuddly chubby bundle, who had hurried in to ‘cuddle’ with her while OLeif was in the shower. He fiddled with OLeif’s mP3 player.

This is my phone, Mama,” he said.

Then OLeif walked in.

I have two bed bugs in here,” he said. Then he held up a finger. “Hello, Puck. I’m Worm.”

Hewo, Worm,” said Puck happily. “This is my phone. You press dah button. And then you call someone.”

Puck was busy at his play later in the morning:

You’ve got an eyelash in your eye. Here, wet me get it for you… Oh, dank you, Car! That feels much better!… I momost ate you!”

Then he looked through old photo books from the family’s vacation to Maine. He found a photo of one of the lighthouses.

Lighthouse!” he exclaimed. “For Grandma Combs! I bring it to her, Mahmaah!”

Then he buried himself in his books and began to read for himself:

Once upon a time, there was a little boy who lived in a long house…”

In the late morning, Collette and Puck took a walk. Puck pushed his stroller for almost the whole way, and stopped to examine rocks from time to time. Then he saw a small lighthouse in someone’s front yard, and he went running for it. By the time Collette had caught up with him, he had given it a great hug with a huge grin on his face. He had apparently, and suddenly, adopted his great grandma’s love of lighthouses.

At lunch, Puck was busy making the cheese on his pizza talk to Collette.

I’m hungry!” he made it whine in a tiny voice. “Gitchy gitchy goo!” he said, pretending to tickle it.

Meanwhile:

  1. OLeif was out to more client meetings.

  2. Rose arrived later in the afternoon to burn sticks with Puck as her tag-a-long.

  3. And Joe arrived after dinner for comedy night to report that the irritant in his hip was likely due to an enflamed nerve.

Joe’s response to his hip: “[Joe Caedmon Snicketts] isn’t broken! Just a swollen nerve or something. Now witness the firepower of this fully ARMED and OPERATIONAL battle station!!!!!”
