“Stop it!” Frances commanded. “You’ve eaten all my chicken nuggets. You’re not getting anymore.”
Trooper cowered in obedience after a last woof for more scraps. He was becoming a little jealous that Puck had taken his place and received all the premium scraps pinched off of waffles, sandwiches, and cookies. Trooper was fortunate if he received the crusts.
The day was cool and dim. Everyone was running around getting ready for graduation and Texas. Joe and Rose would leave at 5:30 in the morning for the South’s, and then the ten or twelve or so hours to the South’s home country.
But before that, there was an early morning graduation ceremony, Annamaria’s graduation party at the park, and then maybe Shakespeare for all those interested. It promised to be a fast-paced day.
