It was an unconventional Memorial Sunday. No Sunday School, as usual, but Dad and Frances were on their second of three-in-a-row weekend scout camp-outs. Joe, Wally, Curly, Rose, and Starr were in Texas with the Souths and Mom and Linnea were going to a shrimp boil in the afternoon. So OLeif, Collette, and Puck spent the afternoon between patches of gigantic electrical storms at the Silverspoon’s for fried chicken and National Treasure 2, which Collette had remembered seeing playing at a theater in Jerusalem in early January. She had remembered seeing theater listings in Aruba in 2004 that were also released close to the same time they had been opened in the U.S. The rest of the world was no longer very far behind America in many respects, it seemed.
