In the afternoon, they took their weekly walk to the library. Puck wore Collette’s Cardinal’s baseball cap. And when they returned, there was another jog and Puck’s bath, after which he requested to be wrapped up in his dalek robe and he put two oven mitts on his hands.

Then Collette cuddled him in a red blanket on the couch downstairs and she brought down plates of fish tacos and wedges of cold pears for dessert while they watched Captain January together. Visiting the basement was a treat for Puck, and he was all smiles. He also requested to jump on the little trampoline. But Collette told him that this would not be a good idea because he had just eaten dinner.

“I gotta not jump on dah trampoline, or else dah pears in my belly will come up out of my mouth and den you will have to clean it up,” he told her very seriously.
