Miguel Dominguez - the Latest Non-Spanish McCrae Addition

[10:17am] It was another fair gray morning. Carrie had returned after two in the morning, apparently, after having seen “Kong” with several friends, including Paige Popp (who was now planning on being married the following December 2nd after becoming engaged the September of 2006), Louis Tecumseh, Elizabeth, Joseph, and Unn the Deep-Minded, following Joseph’s shift at the coffee house.
Meanwhile, Collette spent her morning preparing lessons for January, registering the kids for the ACT, making eggs ‘n a nest for lunch, and retyping “Merchant of Venice” into scripts to be read on Tuesdays with Joe and Rose (part of their English education). And the morning passed quickly.
The afternoon was spent listening to sermons from John Piper and Scott Churnock while she continued to type and write a note to Grandma Combs. There was to be coffee that evening so that Ashley-Sue and her boyfriend, Miguel Dominguez, (the second dancer to tie themselves into the McCrae family), could meet Shakespeare (who was likely a little nervous in anticipation of meeting another often-discussed member of Molly’s family) – the little bald man who had lately stated that he would like to name one of his future daughters, Holly Gene.
[15:18pm] On the Snicketts’ end of things, Mom was trying to convince Carrie to go to Australia with Dad on a business trip at the end of January. Carrie did not think it a likely idea, especially as she had no passport at the time. However, Collette thought it would be fabulous for her, although the Moss kids would both likely be preoccupied, Apple being just newly married, and Elazar being in Tanzania, Kenya, and Mauritius from the end of January till the end of February. He would likely be climbing Mt. Kilimanjaro upon Dad’s arrival.
[22:12pm] Coffee ended up consisting of a rather large crowd, including Louis Tecumseh, Magnus, OLeif and Collette, Joe and Rose, Miguel, Ashley-Sue, and Molly, Stan-o, Wally and Curly (who were dropped off after Scouts), and Mrs. Milk and Giggles. Miguel the Dancer, wore a collared button-up shirt the color of eggplant, and two silver earrings, one in each ear. As it happened, he was not Spanish, as Collette had first imagined, but Greek. And he seemed to fit quite well into their motley crowd. Collette also officially decided that Curly had almost exactly morphed into OLeif (even wearing one of his old sweaters that night), much the same as Rose was morphing into Carrie-Bri. And so the evening lasted several hours over cards, tea, and rather generic conversations, of nothing in particular.
