Annamaria was returning home from Budapest that day. Denae was down at S-F picking up Izzy from a week of leadership training.
On the other side of the world, it was Sunday, and Carrie-Bri left for the airport at about 3:30a Christchurch time to catch her flight back to Sydney where she would be staying another night with the Moss’. Mr. Moss had already volunteered for her to either take an “ocean kayak” with himself and Elazar, watch part of Apple’s soccer game, attend a youth function at their church that night, or have fish and chips at Manly Beach (where they had taken Dad the year before). Needless to say, the Moss’ were very hospital folks.
Meanwhile, it was Saturday morning in St. Louis, and OLeif made pancakes with nutmeg, cinnamon, and vanilla for breakfast. Puck sat in his bouncy seat in the kitchen with him and batted (semi-unintentionally) at the stuffed creatures hanging above his head. He did this (as he did with most things) in awe, wide-eyed.
Come later in the afternoon, they left for the church picnic for the fourth year in a row. This year it would again take place on “the church campus” (as it had been labeled, somewhat ridiculously in Collette’s opinion). Mom, Francis, and Linnea would also be joining them there. (Dad would be working on his masters classes and Rose would be at work.)
