Movies till Midnight

In which another movie night is held with one less participant than usual…

To start with… the Doctor Donna had been on The Office finale the previous evening.
And secondly, Collette and Puck left with OLeif shortly after seven o’clock in the morning to drop him off at work. His motorcycle had finally gotten into the shop and was road-ready.

When they arrived at the Big Shoe, Puck excitedly followed his daddy inside, dressed in an outfit of his own creation: chocolate corduroys, a bright orange fleece, and his sunflower-yellow wellies.
He met a few of OLeif’s buddies and was awarded a chunk of coffee cake following introductions.

And back home the next forty minutes to the soundtrack of Doctor Who.

Classic99 on the internets.
Puck, pulling out the Candyland board and the fat Doctor Who book to play pretend…
“Mama? Can you text the PBS man to bring me The Sweet Touch?”

During lunch…
“Do you see that balloon up above my head, Mama?”
“A pretend one, yes.”
“There’s a sandwich in it.”
“How did the balloon swallow the sandwich?”
“No, no, no. It’s a dream. And you want the sandwich to eat it. Gobble.”
He took another typewriter-chomp out of his corn-on-the-cob. Then he looked over to the vacant game board.
“Sorry, I’m still eating, Gingerbreads.”
As lunch and Adventures in Odyssey came to a close, the sky panned over in that silverish-goldish-sage shade, indicating the coming predicted rain of the weekend.

In other news…
Cherry was in town that afternoon, picked up in Hannibal, to spend the night with Linnea before the embarkation the following morning.
And Francis was surprisingly prepared to attend the spring formal that night with friends, leaving Collette a little incredulous that Mr. Anti-Social would intentionally attend any event where dancing was principally involved.
“Don’t worry, Collette,” he assured her. “I still don’t like dancing.”

And another movie night. This time, one member short.
Magnus and Rose arrived at 7:00 with bounty to share: Oreos Double Stuf and fixings for chili-cheese dip. And Magnus’ choice of Barry Lyndon, a three-hour feature until nearly midnight.
But not before they received a call shortly before eight o’clock that OLeif was stalled at the nearby mall, his bike still, apparently, having the same sort of issue, after repairs had been completed.
But the film was still watched, after a ‘perfect rainbow’ spread across the sky, and as Rose began eating all the insides of the Oreos and leaving the shells.
“So… you like Oreos, Rose?” Magnus asked.
“The outside is just the packaging,” she replied.
