Nana's

Saturday, November 8, 2008

Over at Nana’s for the day. Puck’s Papa was in Denver, and his Uncle Izzy was at work. So once he woke from his nap, Collette tucked his knit cap over his head, pulled down next to his chubby cheeks. A pair of striped mittens, and his Ireland coat, and he was ready to accompany his Nana and Collette on errands.
First stop, an office furniture surplus company where Denae was picking up several colorful prints to try out onthe kitchen walls. They brought back four different copies in bright blues, yellow sunflowers, and some red.
Then to the decorator’s outlet, which was going out of business. Puck enjoyed a ride in a little cart around the store, while his Nana clipped several fabric samples with a monster scissors. And on the way out, they met Aunt Corliss in the check-out line, who was making purchases to sew a new jacket and reupholster an antique rocking chair.
They returned in time for an old Disney movie and a tray-full of turkey ham, avocados, and tomato for Puck. OLeif had also made brownies, and they stayed around till after dark.
After the buster was down for the evening, OLeif took a trip to the store to bring back a red leather 2009 calendar book for Collette. It was that time of year once again.
