Near-Spring Storms

Wednesday, Puck was given his first official dum-dum, flavored cream soda.
“It kind of looks like it would glow in the dark,” said Linnea as she carefully unwrapped it for him.
He giggled as he took a first taste. Then Linnea plopped his chubby person on his plastic tricycle, like a little king, and pushed him around the house.
The whole day was beautiful outside, mostly blue, with promise of rain in the afternoon. Puck followed Linnea around outside, scrubbing through the lawn in his little paddies, and taking rides on the engineless go-kart up and down the street in Linnea’s lap, pushed by Francis.
Carrie pent herself up in her room to complete another FEMA certification to add to her resumé until the early afternoon, when she and Collette did some quick shopping at Plato’s Closet (where Collette found a long gray sweater duster for cold Iceland), and Target.
“I feel like we frequent Target almost every day,” said Carrie, as they neared the store.
Collette agreed. She inevitably preferred it to Wal-Mart, and found herself there often enough to likely become recognizable by the Target staff. There was always something more to grab for Puck or for the dinner table.
Back at the house, the rain had almost arrived. After another hour of running around with his Lila, Puck was collected and brought inside as the cool winds and gray clouds scuttled in from the west.
Back at the house, Puck was plunged in the tub with OLeif administering the bubbles, while Collette prepared lasagna. Puck was escorted out of the tub in his lengthy towel toga, just as the thunder ripped in from the countryside.
Beautiful evenings.
