Night Out

More word arrived from beyond the Pacific that day:
“…I just arrived here at my hostel in Christchurch…They gave me a free DVD of my jump today; it was so sweet! I found out that the only higher place to jump is located in Denver…and guess what….I have a lay-over there on my way home!…Just kidding. Well you’ll be relieved to hear that due to my lack of funds I am no longer thinking of going to Japan next week. I am ready to come home and have some free food, clean clothes, and a shower, of which I have had none this week. I am also ready for some heat. Today at the bungee it was 5 degrees C and I wasn’t wearing a coat!…”
Yes, Mom in particular would be pleased to know that Carrie no longer had any intentions of traveling to Japan. Carrie-Bri’s motto seemed to have been lately:
“Have cash, will travel.”
That evening, Denae came over in the late afternoon to watch the Puck while OLeif and Collette went out on a second date since he was born. It was to Qdoba for quesadillas with sour cream and “Harry Potter” number five while Denae enjoyed giving Puck a sink bath and watching “The Merchant of Venice” (one of Collette’s all-time favorites).
Meanwhile, it was Saturday morning in New Zealand, and Carrie was out for a “Lord of the Rings” tour and rugby game. And the boys had found the beach where “Lost” was filmed. It seemed to be a monumental day for all the travelers.
